Security In Shopping & Checkout

You can shop at with confidence.  We have partnered with Authorize.Net (, a leading payment gateway since 1996, to accept credit cards safely and securely for our customers.  The Authorize.Net Payment Gateway manages the complex routing of sensitive customer information through the credit card processing networks.  See an online payments diagram ( to see how it works.


The company adheres to strict industry standards for payment processing, including:


  • 128-bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology for secure Internet Protocol (IP) transactions.

Information We May Collect

Our primary focus in collecting personal information about you is to provide our customers an exciting, unique, customized online shopping experience by optimizing the use of current technology on our website.  We may collect personal information including your first & last name, complete mailing address, phone number, email address, text messaging address, transaction information, credit card information, and birth month & day.  We collect but do not retain financial information such as credit card numbers.

  • With government and law enforcement upon request, as required by applicable law (such as court order or supoena), if necessary in connection with a fraud investigation, or to protect and defend our interests and those of our customers.  We do not provide information to these agencies for commercial or marketing purposes.


Email Policy

Sandbar Boutique does not sell or rent customers' email addresses to other companies.  When you sign up for email updates and/or our e-newsletter, we will send you announcements regarding special events, fashion information, and promotions.  Each email we send has a link enabling you to unsubscribe.  Please note that if you request to be removed from our email updates and/or e-newsletter database, you will still receive email notifications and updates regarding any orders placed with Sandbar Boutique.


When you provide us your e-mail address, we may send you e-mails necessary to process your order or respond to a request or inquiry. For example, after you place an order at, you will receive an e-mail confirmation and likely an e-mail with delivery tracking information.  We may also email information about new merchandise available, or promos, contests, or surveys we are conducting.


Updating & Modifying Your Communication Preferences

One of the amenities we offer when you register or purchase on our site is to notify you by email about new products available.  These notices and offers will be targeted to your individual preferences.  You can choose whether and how you'd like for us to contact you.  Our site provides you with the opportunity to opt-out of receiving communications from us at the point that we request information about you.  If you wish to update, delete or modify your personal information or do not wish to be contacted via email, direct mail, phone and/or mobile device, we provide several options:


  • Contact our Customer Care Department.  You will need to provide your exact name and postal or email address so that we may identify you accurately.

  • You may also “unsubscribe” from our email by using the link provided at the bottom of each email. 

  • Send us an email with "unsubscribe" in the subject line. 


Please note that if you request to be removed from our e-mail updates database you will still receive e-mail notifications and updates regarding any orders placed with Sandbar Boutique.  We will maintain your information on a “do not contact” list to ensure that we continue to honor your request.  It may take up to 10 days to process your “do not email” request; and up to 6 weeks to process your “do not mail” request since mailings are planned long in advance.  When you purchase online, we will continue to confirm your order and shipment status via email, postal address and/or telephone.  If you change your mind about choices you’ve previously made,contact our Customer Care Department.


Due to privacy concerns, we are unable to honor "opt out" requests made by a third party on your behalf.


Retention & Storage of Personal Information

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected and to comply with applicable laws.


Cookies & Pixel Tags

Our site uses “cookies” which are small data files stored on your computer’s hard drive or mobile device when you visit a site.  Cookies may be used in a variety of ways to enhance and personalize your online browsing and shopping experience.  Cookies allow us to remember what’s in your shopping cart, recognize you when you return to our site, track your orders, and monitor and maintain information about your visits.  You may set your browser not to accept cookies (“do not track”) or to notify you when you receive cookies.  Please be aware, if you do not accept cookies, you will need to re-enter your personal information each time you make an online purchase at


We also use pixel tags (tiny graphic images) to tell us what parts of our website you have visited. Pixel tags also enable us to send you e-mail in a format you can read and let us know when you have opened an e-mail message from us.  We may also contract with other companies who use cookies or other online tools such as pixel tags to measure the performance of a marketing effort on our behalf.

Third Party Ads

We may use third party advertising provider(s) to place our internet ads and deliver to you banner advertisements and other advertising tailored to your interests when you visit certain websites.  The provider(s) may collect anonymous information about your visits to our site and your interaction with our products and services.  The provider(s) may also use information about your visits to this and other sites to target advertisements for merchandise and services.  This anonymous information is collected through the use of a pixel tag which is industry standard technology used by most major websites.  No personally identifiable information is collected or used in this process.  The provider does not know your first and last name, address, phone number, email address or any other personally identifiable information.  We prohibit these companies from using this information for their own marketing purposes or from sharing this information with anyone other than Sandbar Boutique.

Security of Your Information

The protection of your information is of vital importance to us.  When you make a purchase, request information, or register as a Sand Dollar member on our website, your transactional information is transmitted in a safe, encrypted format.  We use various state-of-the-art technologies and processes to help protect against loss, misuse and alterations of your information.  Information such as your credit card account number is transmitted through a secure server using HTTPS (secure http) and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption technology.  However, please note that no matter the type of technologies used, absolute security cannot be guaranteed.


Sandbar Boutique will never request your credit card or other personal information by email.  If you receive an email that appears to be a request from us for personal information, do not respond as this may be a “phishing” scam designed to steal your information.  Never include your credit card number or other sensitive information in an email as it is not a secure means of transmitting information.  We will only request such information during secure transactions on our site. 


Further, we limit the information we provide to outside companies we use for various services (as described above) to only the specific information needed to effectively render their particular services. 


Links to Other Websites

Occasionally our site may contain links to sites owned by third parties.  Please review the privacy policy of any site you access through our site as we are not responsible for a third party’s privacy policy, terms, practices or website content.


Children's Privacy

Our site is not intended for use by children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 18.  If we learn that information has been submitted by someone who is under the age of majority in your jurisdiction of residence, we will not use it.  The child’s parent or guardian should contact us if we have inadvertently collected such personal information and we will delete it from our files.


Gift Sending

If you’re making a gift purchase for someone, you can submit their name and shipping information if you want the gift sent directly to the recipient. 


International Orders & Users

We now accept international orders to Canada and certain European countries.  The customer is responsible for all taxes, tarrifs and fees for goods entering their country of residence. 


Policy Changes

If our Privacy Policy changes, we will post the changes to our site with the revision date.  Your continued use of our site constitutes your acknowledgement and agreement with our Privacy Policy.  Please also note that our Privacy Policy is incorporated into our site’s Terms of Use.   We encourage you to periodically review our Privacy Policy, and if at any time you have  comments or questions, please contact our Customer Care Department.
